AnimatronRix -- Rick's Animatronic characters and creations.
The following are the characters I have made/modified in the past and the ones waiting to be done.
Parrot (Hasbro 2006 - McCaw FurReal) -- This is an out of the box animatronic parrot from 2006. To interface him to an Amazon Alexa AUX output, I had to cl;ip some wires inside the parrot and then connect them to a custom circuit (Squawker Talker 2017). It works great, but can be glitchy at times. I hope to remove all of the innerds from another parrot and replace with my own servos and electronics int he future.
Chimpanzee head -- From the movie "ED" a movie from 1996 in which a baseball player buys a chimpanzee as a pet and he becomes the mascot and team player for the baseball team. The head I have is the animatronic used in the movie.
I am looking to connect this to the Amazon Alexa. Presently the Chimpanzee head has 13 servos alreayd installed and conencted to different movements of the face. Some resotration will be necessary and a special daughercared confirguration will also be necessary. Likely using an Arduino Giga R1 with an Adafruit 16 Servo SPI board to control for so many servos.
Mountain Banshee (from the movie Avatar) -- hand cable operated from The Disney Store. The cable was shortened and servos attached to the cable ends for movement manipulations.
Star Trek Talking Sphere -- Watch the Star Trek series episode "Return to Tomorrow", 1968.
From Wikipedia -- The starship Enterprise receives a distress call from an apparently lifeless planet. Upon arrival, a telepathic being named Sargon (voiced by James Doohan) addresses Kirk and Spock as his "children", and invites them to beam down to the planet. Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, and Lt. Cmdr. Ann Mulhall beam to a subterranean vault where the voice of Sargon greets them from a luminous sphere on a pedestal.
